Something brought you here. A photograph, a name that keeps surfacing, a friend who would not stop talking about a mountain in northern California. This is a sixteen page guide to Mount Shasta: her geology, the nations whose homelands surround her, the traditions that formed around her, and my own relationship with the mountain.
