The regular sessions from Carlsbad to Encinitas to Balboa Park, what each one is like, what it costs, and who it is for. Including ours, which is why you should read the others too.

North County San Diego has more sound baths per square mile than almost anywhere. Here are the ones with a real track record, what each is like, and who each is for. Details are taken from the hosts' own listings in October 2026; prices and dates change, so check theirs before you go.
Our own, so read with that in mind. Sound is woven into every new and full moon ceremony in Anya's home temple in Carlsbad: blue lotus, crystal bowls, voice and Light Language, then Kundalini Activation. Twelve people or fewer, $77, two hours, address shared on booking. Best for: people who want more than the sound, in a circle small enough to be seen. Private group sound baths travel anywhere in North County. Sound bath in Carlsbad →
Jeny Dawson's full moon sound bath is one of the longest-running regular sessions in North County: sixty minutes of alchemy crystal singing bowls, gongs, drums and chimes, held at the Crystal Tones Temple on South Rancho Santa Fe Road in Encinitas, surrounded by crystals. Around $40, booked through Eventbrite; Jeny stays after to let people try the bowls. Best for: a first sound bath, and anyone who wants the full-moon timing without ritual. zensoulbalance.com
The Crystal Tones Temple itself: a crystal singing bowl showroom and sound temple on South Rancho Santa Fe Road that hosts its own sound events and practitioner trainings, and lends its room to other facilitators. Best for: hearing what a room full of alchemy bowls sounds like, and for anyone thinking about learning to play. sacredsoundofthesoul.com
The Encinitas Boulevard studio runs periodic Saturday-evening sound journeys, often with guest musicians, at community prices (recent sessions listed at $15 and up). Ninety minutes, in a yoga studio, with the studio's community around you. Best for: a low-cost first sound bath and people who already practice there. soulofyoga.com
A wellness spa on private grounds on North Vulcan Avenue, with treatments, a boutique and apothecary, and an events calendar that regularly lists sound and ceremony gatherings alongside yoga and workshops. Best for: a sound bath as part of a spa afternoon, and for private events. fourmoonsspa.com
The garden hosts sound meditation sessions among its ponds and paths in Balboa Park. Best for: an outdoor sound bath in a setting that does half the work before a bowl is struck, and for visitors staying downtown. niwa.org
The botanic garden's program calendar includes occasional sound healing events, such as its Heart in Harmony sessions, in the gardens. Best for: a daytime sound bath outdoors; watch the calendar, since they are not weekly. sdbg.org
A wellness center that offers sound healing as part of a mental-health-oriented program alongside Reiki and other modalities. Best for: people who want sound inside a clinical, trauma-aware setting rather than a ceremony. monimawellness.com
For whatever is happening this week, Eventbrite's San Diego and Encinitas sound bath pages and Meetup's Breathwork & Sound Bath group list pop-up sessions at breweries, beaches, yoga studios and living rooms across the county. Quality varies; the hosts above are the ones with years behind them.
Ask three questions. How many people will be in the room: twelve is intimate, forty is a concert. What happens besides the sound: nothing (a sound bath), or ritual and energy work (a ceremony). And where: a studio floor, a spa, a garden, or a home. None is better. They are different evenings, and the right one is the one you will actually go to.
